Elon Musk Says He Wants To Meet His Chinese Lookalike
Let’s brace up for a meet-up.
Elon Musk has shared he would like to meet with his lookalike, a man named Yilong Ma from the Northeastern Chinese province of Hebei if he isn’t a Deepfake. Yilong appeared to have a striking resemblance to Musk when he went viral on China’s version of TikTok, Duoyin.
A video of Yilong had first shown him standing next to a luxury car spread, prompting the SpaceX CEO to quip in December he might be partly Chinese.
Yilong has a TikTok account with over 230K followers, posting several videos, including a video where he referred to himself as “China’s Elon Musk.” His most recent clip appeared to show him trying to speak English. Its caption reads: “Actually, I don’t know what I’m talking about, please forgive me.”
@mayilong0 Actually I don’t know what I’m talking about, please forgive me. I’m embarrassed, I need an English teacher.#elonmusk #twins #tesla ♬ Canyons – Official Sound Studio
Taking to Twitter, Musk has again reacted after a user suggested that the Chinse Elon Musk could be a decoy.
He tweeted: “I’d like to meet this guy (if he is real). Hard to tell with deepfakes these days.”
In response, Ma has said he would love to meet him too. He wrote on China’s Twitter-like Weibo: “I am here. I want very much to see you too! I love you; you are my hero.” News.com.au reported the Global Times has since opined that Yilong Ma could have used an AI face to mimic the features of Musk.
