Tristan Thompson Alleges Maralee Nichols Is Trying To ‘Gain Fame’ With Lawsuit
He had demanded a paternity test in July, but as of November, Maralee hadn’t taken the test.
Three days after Maralee Nichols’ lawsuit went public, Tristan Thompson has responded, filing an emergency gag order request in Harris County, Texas, to prevent the personal trainer from taking their paternity suit more public than it already did.
Thompson has requested an emergency gag order to be issued amid his ongoing paternity suit with Nichols.
In one of his fillings [obtained by Page Six], the NBA Star claimed Maralee’s “intention all along [was] to try to achieve some notoriety and gain for herself in the lawsuit. In addition, the 30-Year-Old alleged that Maralee’s inclusion of Snapchat messages sent between them is an “attempt to smear” him.
The American basketballer accused the personal trainer of gaining fame with the lawsuit she recently filed.
The NBA Star revealed Nichol’s decision to share their conversations on Snapchat was a move to smear him.
While Thompson has denied writing or sending the messages, he added that they are “wholly and clearly fabricated.” The filings revealed that Maralee alerted the media of him allegedly fathering her child and the competing lawsuits in California and Texas, despite the court previously granting a protective order to guard the documents, which contained sensitive information.
Thompson also accused the trainer of alerting the media about their relationship and the pregnancy.
It would be recalled that Nichols filed for child support before giving birth to the child.
In his filings, the Sacramento Kings Star also stated that he has suffered “damages and extremes distress.” Thompson, who plans on retiring after this season, requested the court hold an emergency hearing for a complete gag order and insisted Maralee post a $30,000 bond to “deter” her from violating the order. He also wants the personal trainer to pay his fees to file the request.
Tristan had also admitted he had s*x with the 31-year-old trainer but claimed that it only happened once.
But in a twist, Nichols said the affair started 5months before his birthday and continued after her pregnancy.
In a declaration included in the filing, Thompson shared he had demanded Maralee take a paternity test in July. As of Nov. 15, she hadn’t taken a test yet. In a subsequent filing, he expressed he would pay child support if the child were his. Maralee had claimed in the paternity suit that Thompson impregnated her in March on his 30th birthday when he and Khloe Kardashian were still very much together.
When the alleged baby was conceived, Thompson was still in a relationship with Khloe Kardashian.
Nichols sued Thompson, pictured with Khloe, for child support and reimbursement of pregnancy-related costs.
She sued him for child support and reimbursement of medical and pregnancy-related costs. The NBA star admitted to having s*x with the Houston-native several times at a hotel after attending a party together. In her legal filing, she claimed that text messages allegedly sent by Thompson indicated he wanted her to get an abortion and threatened that she would get next to nothing with lesser support requirements in Texas.
