Suez Canal Crisis Sparks Memes And Here’re 23 Hilarious Ones
Most of us just resign to our fate.
There is nothing more representative of the life we’re living than ridiculous situations like the Suez Canal Crisis. You’d think that the pandemic couldn’t have gotten worse. Well, it just did with the economy hanging on whether how fast that ship can be dislodged.
Lost packages are common from time to time. But to have a ship as long as the Empire State Building gets stuck on the Suez Canal really takes a crisis to the next level. As engineers, politicians, business people, and everyone else involved spend sleepless nights trying to get the ship out, the rest of us sits down and make some memes.

The Ever Given ship did not just get stuck on the canal – it got stuck on one of the most crowded trading routes that may mean the literal death of people in business. Because of the emergency, suppliers are contemplating going through Cape of Good Hope with a one-week setback on delivery, according to Financial Times.

According to Lloyd’s List, this Suez incident involves more than $9.6bn worth of goods on it (this doesn’t count the 160 other ships stuck on the canal). The Suez Canal has never seen such a ridiculous situation since it was completed in 1869 and nationalized 65 years ago. Hence, people could imagine just how huge the burden of global e-commerce and the transport of direly needed medical equipment is on that… excavator.

So, when will the ship get out of this situation? CNN reports that the 224,000-ton vessel will take up to weeks to dislodge. It was stuck on March 23, and so far, several attempts, including to afloat the ship, have failed. As experts determined it would be impossible to free it at its current weight, they are now attempting to lighten it up by removing fuel and ballast water.
