20 Illustrations Of A Not-So-Perfect Couple That Will Make You Cry
Love can be hard. But it never has to be perfect.
Nobody in this world is perfect. Nobody can ever be perfect, but what we can definitely do is try our best for others. The shows that we watch usually have perfect main characters who are always mentally strong enough to stand up independently even when going through so many hardships. Their partner is just equally as strong, if not better.
But in reality, we’re all built differently. Some of us can never be like those main characters – we side characters who don’t have an ideal look. But even so, we deserve to love and be loved. Some of us suffer from depression, anxiety, or maybe some mental disorder that can really make shut us out from the world.
Hey, that’s not your fault – nobody is perfect. Only fictional characters can be so. So here are Athena and her roommate Danvas who both came to care for each other despite their own imperfections?

Self-love and self-care.

Your scarf.

Finally, I’d like to be your roomie.

The illustrator and author of these stories are Pau. Pau works as an illustrator during the day and spends her free time drawing her original characters and their relationship at night. The ‘lovers of chickens’ love has been drawing Danvas and Athena for years now. Their relationship is one of the most endearing thing ever, something Pau likes to explore.
Comfort.

They meet again.

Mental illness.

Through thick and thin.

I’m trying.

Realistic is probably a better way to describe them than being ‘toxic.’ It seems unfair to call them so just because Danvas sometimes fall into self-harm when depression hits or that Athena’s still trying her best to understand and love Danvas the way he is. There are also moments when Pau would draw their love as ‘platonic.’
Time to be alone.

So, I’m sorry.

Something special.

A romantic Valentine’s Day.

Meeting the parents.

Starving!

Danvas and Athena are not perfect people and they have their own quirks. But despite all that, they love each other as they are and try hard to understand each other’s pains and discomforts. They are always there through all times and oh, perfect moments aren’t candlelight dinners on Valentine’s Day:
They look sad… but at least we’re happy.

A moment of silence..

Just order lunch.

I stole a car.

Sweet Nothings.

Truly mesmerizing.

Not so perfect couples can look so perfect with Pau’s storytelling ability. If you love what she draws, definitely go visit her Instagram page so you can read her newest story on the couple!
