Cancel culture isn’t new. It’s just that people have come up with a term that’s more trendy and easier to understand. Back in the day, people prefer to refer to these acts are blacklisting celebrities. Today, we give it the term cancel culture, but this isn’t the act of giving attention seekers the clout they want.
These celebrities really lose their career, some pretty much overnight, with no other way to enter the industry again. It’s easy to say that they could’ve just sucked it up, but the mental burden that comes with being on the headline for days and the talk of the nation for weeks is really harsh.
