Woman Left Looking Like A Monster, Inc Character After Allergic Reaction To Her Lip Fillers

Philadelphian technology graduate Kailee Jones was the laughing stock of her friends when she revealed that her lip filler injection had gone awfully wrong. The 23-year-old was having an allergic reaction to the filler that caused it to swollen eight times its original size.

We can confidently say this wasn’t her idea of plump, fuller lips.

Jones got a 1 ml injection on both top and bottom lips, and just within an hour, they reacted badly as her lips began to swell. Her red lips reminded people, however, of that one character from Monster Inc., and it’s leaving her friends in stitches.

The resemblance is too hilarious! Though she’s embraced it by using the character as her profile picture, she’s also warning others about the possibility of allergic reactions to fillers.

“I’ve always had thinner lips, and they disappear when I smile so I wanted to make them fit my face a little bit more,” she explained her reason for getting the filler. “Everything went well at the appointment, and the first hour after it started swelling, but I think it was just normal because they do swell.”

“I kept icing them, and I think that the ice might have made it worse because then they really started to blow up. Once it hit after an hour or two they were really big, and then it was 48 hours of them being that big.”

“I couldn’t drink anything or even open my mouth to talk – I couldn’t speak.”

“I would say they were eight times the size of my normal lips; it was unreal. I looked like the Monsters, Inc. character.”

She quickly informed her doctor, and she was prescribed oral steroids for a week for the welling. The woman was also warned that the allergy might worsen and expand to her neck, causing her throat to close. But she’s since been okay as the swelling died down in three days.

“The pictures don’t even really show how big they were; it was crazy,” she recalled. “It was very painful. I was scared it was going to go to my throat, which is what doctors said it could do, and my throat could close basically.”

“That was my biggest fear and then also just thinking ‘are they stuck like this?'”

“My mom was very worried and was scared my throat was going to close so she kept checking on me,” the graduate mentioned of her family’s support.

“My brother didn’t even know I was getting them done and I walked in like that and he was just like ‘what the hell’.”

While it was normally scary for her, Jones found the comments made hilarious as some thought she was serious about the size.

This was disastrous but at least everyone got a good laugh out of it and Jones still get to keep her new lips.
