Woman Goes Viral For Being A Ph.D. Medical Student During The Day And A Go-Go Dancer At Night
Working hard and being a BOSS.
Danielle Minichino is currently in her 4th year of a Biomedical Ph.D. Program studying the molecular mechanisms that drive a rare pediatric disease. But while this sounds tedious, it hasn’t, however, stopped the 27-Year-Old from working as an independent contractor through an entertainment company.
Danielle Minichino shared on TikTok how she’s a medical student by day and a go-go dancer at night.
She is currently in her 4th year of a Biomedical Ph.D. Program studying the molecular mechanisms that drive a rare pediatric disease.
Working hard and being a BOSS, Danielle, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience, enjoys dancing at large nightclubs in Atlantic City. She grew up taking dance classes at a studio run by an amazing woman who raised all the dancers to feel empowered and beautiful. Interestingly, she has a minor in dance performance.
As tedious as the field of study seems, it hasn’t, however, stopped the 27-Year-Old from dancing at nightclubs.
Danielle works as an independent contractor because she loves it and helps pay the bills.
“Getting a Ph.D. isn’t structured like other degrees where a class graduates together. It’s an independent experience, taking an average of six years within my program. So I’m looking at about another year or two,” Danielle told BuzzFeed, adding that she loves the feeling she gets from performing on stage and has known at a young age she wanted to incorporate that into her life.
As her TikTok went viral, people applauded her for working hard and being a BOSS at both.
They also praised how she portrayed how women can have brains and dance skills.
She continued: “I knew it would be tricky figuring out a way to dance while in my Ph.D. training. Go-go dancing was the perfect option; not only is it flexible, but it gives me more financial freedom.” Recently, Danielle shared her school/work-life on TikTok with her followers and instantly went viral. She explained if she had known that many people were going to see it, she would have put a bit more thought into her word choice.
People insisted they were proud of her for working hard for what she wanted in life in the comments.

“Go-go dancing was the perfect option; not only is it flexible, but it gives me more financial freedom,” Danielle stated.
Based on the comments Danielle shared, the majority of the viewers seem to be picking what she’s trying to get across – empowerment and breaking stigmas. She said: “Far too often, our actions and self-perceptions are [un]consciously influenced by societal constructs and expectations. We are more than what any label can define us as, whether it be in regards to our gender, age, race, sexual orientation, or career. Yes, I’m a scientist, but that’s not all of who I am.”

Reportedly, the scientist actually has a minor in dance performance.
The Go-go dancer doesn’t have plans to stop dancing even after she graduates, and her message of inspiration is simple. It reads: “Don’t let a box be built around you that may prevent you from being genuinely you. Step out of that box! Be you, sis!” Nonetheless, she has a recently launched online shop, and about 50% of the proceeds go to different charities monthly.
