Viral Boy Who Begged Kids To Stop Bullying Him Will Star In A Hollywood Blockbuster
He’s a star now!
Quaden Bayles was a bullying survivor who went viral in a clip where the boy who has dwarfism begged for people to stop bothering him. But now, the 11-year-old is known for amazing achievements.
Director George Miller from ‘Fury Road’ has cast him for his prequel movie, ‘Furiosa.’
Even before this, he was already an Instagram star, where a single sponsored post could earn him up to $2,600! It was understandable as not only does he have 288k followers, but he also has celebrity supporters, like Hugh Jackman and fellow indigenous rap star ‘The Kid Laroi’!
Aside from ‘Furiosa,’ the Queensland boy has also been cast for ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’ as an extra, starring A-listers Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton, slated to hit the theatre this year.
‘Furiosa’ is the fifth film of the Mad Max series, starring Mel Gibson, Chris Hemsworth, and Tom Burke.
Speaking of his reason for casting Quaden, he told Good Weekend that his sorrowful plea in the viral video that was filmed by his mother Yarraka Bayles was the main reason. In the clip, the poor boy who was diagnosed with achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism, asked for a knife to die by it after he was bullied.
His mother spoke, “I just picked my son up from school, witnessed a bullying episode, rang the principal, and I want people to know this is the effect bullying has. This is what bullying does.”
“So can you please educate your children, your families, your friends because all it takes is one more instance… and you wonder why kids are killing themselves. We try to be as strong as positive as possible and only share the highlights… but this is how bullying affects a nine-year-old kid.”
Hugh Jackman took notice of the viral clip and spoke about it on Twitter, “Quaden, you are stronger than you know, mate. And no matter what, you’ve got a friend in me.”
Miller, the director, was fired up when News Corp columnist Miranda Devine accused Ms. Bayles of coaching Quaden for content. The Oscar-winning filmmaker commented, “What the hell would she know about that? That really fired me up.”
He praised the boy’s acting in ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’ and said, “It was good for us, and it was good for him. And he did such a good job that’s he’s got a small role in Furiosa.”
Aside from several appearances with rugby league stars and the All-Stars team, he’s also received $700k from US comedian Brad Williams through GoFundMe. They went to Disneyland and gave the rest of the money to charity.
