Vegan Student Is ‘Traumatised For Life’ After Biting Into A Pork Sausage Roll By Greggs
Hadn’t eaten meat in two years!
A Vegan student revealed she was left devastated for life after being served a pork sausage roll instead of a meat-free version at the Greggs Bakery.
Sharleen Ndungu, 20, claimed she had heart palpitations and burst into tears after eating the savoury snack. Realizing later on that the snack contained meat, Miss Ndungu explained she had ordered for a vegan version.
Furiously, Miss Ndugu also acknowledged she returned that snack to the Greggs store in Canterbury, Kent, where she was finally offered a £2 refund by the manager.

Miss Ndugu placed a call to Gregg’s customer service and was offered a £30 voucher, but declined, requesting for an apology
Miss Ndugu also revealed she placed a call to Gregg’s customer service and was offered a £30 voucher, but declined, requesting for an apology.
‘I was asking for a public apology to make people aware of what to look out for when buying things. People can be allergic to pork and eventually die from such. It’s my choice not to eat meat because it causes cancer. And now that choice has been taken away from me.’ Miss Ndugu said.
Sharing her experience on Twitter, the vegan feared the same occurrence could affect someone else for a religious reason.

‘We now have a fix-it-now company policy where we give clients a refund straight away. If they don’t accept that, we then put them through to the head office. She certainly must have received an apology, it’s the company standard.’ a shift manager at the Greggs store responded
‘I have not had meat in 2 years. My belly started hurting and my heart started palpitating. I was really panicking because that only happens when I eat meat – this doesn’t happen, I have a bite of other food.’ Miss Ndugu added.
