Uncle Rages Over Not Being Served Meat On Niece’s Wedding, Gets Blasted Online

It is tough to cater to everyone’s needs when planning for your own wedding and to invite over hundreds of guests. However, it is your wedding party. What matters is for you and your partner to enjoy the day because, duh, you paid to share the happiness with others!

A bride-to-be had to deal with contempt from her family after openly telling this one uncle who INSISTED on being served meat for the wedding. But she and her partner had decided only to have vegan meals and couldn’t afford to hire another catering to serve the meat for the wedding. Imagine if she also has to cater to all kinds of diets her guests might be on, from sugar-free, keto, etc.

Several people have conditions that restrict them to certain diets, typically vegan or gluten-free.

She went into a dilemma as the uncle’s family felt crossed and spread the story to everyone else. She wrote, “I don’t want to seem like a “pushy vegan” but I also don’t want to pay for meat unless I have to. Again, it’s one meal out of their whole life.”

Having dietary restrictions is common, and while you can, you want to make sure your guests are comfortably provided during the celebration. Especially when it comes to your family members, you want to that at least they can enjoy their meal without having to worry about their allergies.

People with Coeliac diseases need to avoid meals with gluten as their immune system overreact when they ingest it. As such, they have to avoid food like rye and barley.
