This Parking Lot Is Transformed Into A Safe Haven For The Homeless At Night
Helping oneself is good, but assisting many others is far better!
Homelessness has remained a controversial issue across many countries. A lot of people don’t have a home as a result of one illness or the other. Some are also homeless because they equally lost their job.
Accordingly, homeless individuals sleep on the streets covered with cardboard boxes and newspapers, searching through trashes for warmer clothes and food.
Well, a charity has decided to assist these unlucky individuals.

Understanding their horrible living conditions, an Australian Charity named Beddown has agreed to help homeless people in need. Beddown came up with an amazing concept to make shelters in places that are not in use at night – the parking lots!
The organization collaborated with one of the largest car park operators, Secure Parking and unveiled a 2weeks trial in Brisbane. A group of kind-hearted volunteers equally created a safe environment for these homeless people in a bid to get them a good night’s rest.
Norman McGillivray, the founder of the charity Beddown brought up the concept after walking past some vacant parking lot at night. Thinking why they are not used as a shelter, he carefully planned and made his idea a reality.
Aimed at taking common places used in the daytime and turning them into shelters for the homeless at night, the organization ensures it provides secure locations and environment for people to sleep at night.
With many of the homeless individuals suffering from sleep deprivation due to their living conditions, a lot of them also face health-related problems, including memory loss, hypertension, diabetes, depression, and even obesity.
Nevertheless, the charity provided with multiple services ranging from hairdressers, dentists, nurses, and doctors. These homeless people are also given new clothing, a room to clean themselves up as well as other basic social services.
