‘The Batman’ Becomes Highest Opening Weekend Movie Of This Year With $128M At Box Office
So far, it’s been positive reviews.
“The Batman” hasn’t only landed first place at the box office but has also earned way over than the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had a $260million opening weekend in December. While it had reportedly cost $200million to produce, “The Batman” earned $128.5million on its opening weekend and garnered positive reviews.
The movie is centered on the titular superhero, played by Robert Pattison, attempting to take on corruption in Gotham City while taking on The Riddler.
The movie also features talents like Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Colin Farrell.
The report about Pattison-starring feature had been reported by The Hollywood Reporter, who has also noted that the movie’s almost three-hour-long runtime didn’t put off viewers.
According to Variety, The Batman remains the second pandemic-era film to earn more than $100million in a single weekend and has also beaten out the Mark Wahlberg treasure-hunt movie “Uncharted for the top spot. The post’s Jonnhy Oleksinski has since called it a bleak reminder of the Big Apple’s recent crime wave.
Also, Jeff Goldstein, the president of domestic distribution at Warner Bros, told Entertainment News: “It’s fun to see the public really embrace the movie. That bodes well for its run on the big screen. It helps that the word of mouth is so strong.” However, the film’s release in Russia was notably banned at the last minute due to the invasion of Ukraine.
