‘We are here giving away free 1980s-1990s Petal vintage toilet rolls to those that are desperately in need. No, this isn’t a joke.’ Mr. Guirgis said on Facebook.

Uploading photos of the toilet paper, Mr. Guirgis revealed he was overwhelmed with messages from needy people.

‘I am in a confused state at the moment, hundreds of people are messaging from this morning and last night. I don’t know how to prioritize who to give them to. Clearly, the elderly and the disadvantaged should be cared for first. I have with me a list of about ten places to go as well as to deliver some this afternoon.’ Mr. Guirgis added.

Michael’s father, who passed away ten years ago owned a store around the suburb of Marrickville. Michael reveals his dad had a storeroom filled with items from the 80s and 90s, adding that he would need to clear out more space as he really needs to.

He wrote on Facebook:

‘Fortunately, in the far corner, I found approximately 270 rolls. It was like winning a jackpot. I have never been more excited to see toilet rolls.’ He wrote on Facebook.

Reacting, a user commented on Michael’s post, applauding his generosity. ‘This is awesome. I am down to two rolls – one is unopened and could use an extra one. However, I will only accept if those in need are covered.’ A user wrote. Another added: ‘Wow, what a find!’

Sobhi Guirgis, Michael’s dad had migrated to Australia from Egypt in the late 1960s and resided in the suburb with many other immigrants
