Simba Moment! Gorilla Mom Lifts Her Newborn Baby Up For Visitors To See

A cute moment was captured on tape as a gorilla held up her newborn baby to be shown off to visitors of Calgary Zoo before she hugged the baby and kissed its forehead.

Such a rare, beautiful moment! The gorilla mom cradled her little baby before lifting her up for people to see.

As the video was reshared on a bigger platform, people flooded the short clip with lovely comments. One wrote, “Omg, I love this sooo much! Thank you for brightening my day.”

“Momma loves her little baby! How sweet and heartwarming to see,” wrote another.

Another shared, “Reminds of nurses in hospital with newborns…”

There are, however, people who demand the gorillas to be freed and those who think the woman’s reaction was ridiculous.

One annoyed user wrote, “It is surprising that these women are shocked that a mother of any species apart from the human cares for and lives their babies. Of course, they do.”

Another demanded, “Sad… these animals should be free!!!”

The Calgary Zoo is now home to six gorillas, with one just born in April. As a critically endangered species, the gorilla’s birth has been a reason for celebration at the zoo to protect the species from being poached in the wild.

Aggressive poaching exacerbated by destroyed habitats of gorillas has led to the population decreasing by 80% over the past 30 years. Most of these were caused by mineral coltan, that’s heavily mined for the production of mobile phones.

The touching moment between the gorilla mom and her baby had captured the heart of many. Hopefully, the viral video will allow the spread of awareness of the species, with one of them through donating to the Calgary Zoo to help support wildlife conservation, including the gorillas.
