Shoppers Lash Out At Vegan Protesters Who Raided Auckland Supermarket

‘It’s not food, it’s violence.’

Vegan protesters all dressed in black recently stormed a supermarket and formed a human barricade to obstruct people from going to the store’s meat section.

Also sealing their mouth with tape, they were carrying a sign that reads: ‘Stop eating animals and it’s not just food but violence.’

Happened at the Countdown Supermarket in Auckland, New Zealand on Sunday, angry shoppers, however, responded by throwing abuse at the vegan protesters and tagged them ‘disgusting’ before requesting they leave the store calmly.

Filmed and shared on Social Media, the protest was led by Amanda Rippon, who claimed it was a peaceful protest.

Amanda said: ‘We’re here on a peaceful protest for the victims who are behind closed doors and lying dead behind us now.’

Admitting they were not granted permission to be in the store, Amanda got confronted by one of the store’s employees.

On the other hand, shoppers declined being discouraged by the act and continued browsing the meat section. ‘Get out of my face. I am very disgusted that you guys are even here in my supermarket when I am buying my food. You totally disgust me,’ a shopper said.

Another angered shopper added: ‘Take your camera off me! I am doing my fucking shopping. I’m doing my shopping lady, unless you plan to pay for my shopping, you can fuck off.’

Eventually, the protesters lefts the supermarket, but paraded through the shopping mall food court saying ‘It’s not food, it’s violence.’  A spokesperson for the Supermarket said the police was called after the group refused to leave the premises.

Deno Strokes, a member of the group revealed they were actually not doing anything out of the ordinary. ‘ We’re not doing any damage. We’re just standing and raising awareness with the signs.’ Deno defended the group.
