Python Tries To Swallow Leopard, Immediately Regrets It

No, you can’t always eat your cake and have it!

It’s honestly an avoidable mistake!

An unexpected battle occurred after a python tried swallowing a leopard in a safari park. Well, the big cat emerged as the winner.

The two animals initially had their eyes targeted on an unsuspicious impala, but the python turned around and decided to try his luck with the leopard instead.

Startled, the big cat leaped into the air and struck with its enormous paws at the python who tried squeezing it into submission at the Maasai Mara Triangle Reserve in Kenya.

Terrified safari onlookers were confident that the leopard would be served on the menu as it laid helplessly trapped in the python’s grip. But the leopard managed to claw his way out and swiped with a final killer bite.

Photographer Mile Welton, 28, captured the whole event. From Ontario, Canada – the photographer said:  ‘We all relaxed back thinking about how terrible it was watching a beautiful leopard get killed. A Python construction is terrible and it was heartbreaking to imagine death from that as well.’

However, the leopard wrestled its way out and was able to claw, then bite the head of the snake.

Mike added: ‘We heard a very loud crunching sound like the leopard biting the skull of the python. The python might have died or terribly injured because we saw it flopping around slowly. It was the closest fight with death that the leopard had escaped’

Mike had been photographing wildlife for about seven years. He further revealed that his group had heard of a leopard sighting in the area and had rushed down to witness the scene.

‘It was quite thrilling to see the power of a leopard in action when hunting an impala. We stood there for like 15mins before realizing that the impala was cautious while the leopard appeared too patient. The distance between them grew and I capped my lens believing it was certainly over, not until the leopard and python incident.’ Mike explained.
