Pregnant Girl, 21, Strangled By Her Own Hair At A Job Interview After Catching It In A Machine
Died 20days after failing to regain consciousness.
Umida Nazarova recently applied for a new job at a factory in Borisov, Belarus, where welding wire and electrodes are produced. The 21-Year-Old got invited for an interview, and while taking her through a tour, she had her hair loose. Sadly, it got caught in a machine and wrapped around her neck; she became trapped and got covered in blood.
Umida was strangled by her hair and had her scalp ripped off after she got entangled in a factory machine.
Her mom, identified as Olga, shared more light on the incident, saying her daughter’s throat was injured, her hair got wrapped around her neck, and pulled into the mechanism. “If her scalp had not been torn off, she would have been strangled there and then by her hair,” Olga said. Umida did suffer fatal injuries and never regained consciousness.
The 21-Year-Old was applying for a job at the Svarmet factory in Borisov when she suffered the accident.
Senior employers were showing her around the facility when her loose hair got caught in a machine.
Her father, Dmitry, claimed safety rules were broken and that the factory named Svarnet took two lives as his daughter was seven weeks pregnant. He said: “They saw she had long hair, so why didn’t they give her something to cover it?” According to the Belarus Investigate Committee, the employee showing Umida how the equipment operates had paused to make a record in a register.
Umida’s mom Olga [left] said: “Her throat was injured, according to the doctor.” Her dad, Dmitry [right] added: “They saw she had long hair, so why didn’t they give her something to cover it?”
It’s reported that Umida quickly became trapped and eventually got covered in blood.
The committee stated: “When she turned her head, she saw the woman already laying on the floor unconscious, her hair was tangled in the machine.” The plant has fully paid for Umida’s funeral and her mom Olga again shared with local news her daughter wanted to become a mother, and they had together wanted to celebrate her wedding.
Despite being rushed to hospital, Umina sadly died 20 days later after failing to regain consciousness.
Dmitry strongly believes health and safety rules were broken in the lead up to his daughter’s horrific accident.
Both Olga and Dmitry had also looked forward to collecting a grandson or granddaughter from the hospital. “This is not what I wanted for my child,” Olga said. However, a court has sentenced an unnamed plant head of production for “failure to fulfill her official duties due to dishonest and negligent attitude,” causing the death of a person.
