Pregnant Fitness Trainer Slammed For ‘Harming’ Her Baby After Lifting 315LBS

However, people are airing their disapproval, branding the New York-based crazy while insisting that she’s causing harm to the unborn child. On May 15, Yanyah, married to a Police Officer Husband Risel Martinez, 31, shared a video of herself in the gym, and she could be seen squatting with an impressive 315lbs. The mom-of-three-year-old daughter Smiljana also deadlifts heavyweight and did other exercises. 

But most people are in disapproval, insisting she’s causing harm to the unborn child.

Yanyah, in an Instagram post, had at point hit back at critics, reminding women they can work out while pregnant if their doctor clears them.

Yanyah’s main goal is to change the norms and social expectations of pregnancy.

“In the not-so-distant past, women were urged to cut down on or even avoid exercise during pregnancy. Today, we know differently. Not only is it OK to participate in fitness activities during pregnancy, but doing so can have a positive impact on both baby and mom. It’s essential to remember that pregnancy is not a time to outdo or outperform yourself in the gym.” Yanyah said, responding to her haters.

In a post addressing critics, Yanyah claims babies whose moms exercise have a lower heart rate and even a sign of good heart health.

She shared that she believed her fitness helped her deliver her firstborn efficiently.
