“Don’t dress like you’re asking for it.”

There are just some things you do not say to a teenager, no matter how unacceptable they look. But Grace Brumfield from Alabama high school had to receive so many unsavory criticisms from adults on Facebook because of the dress she wore to Homecoming.

Let’s begin with the fact that she loved her picture, and so did her boyfriend’s mom, who decided to share a photo of them on Facebook.

The 17-year-old junior was, however, criticized because the black dress she wore was way too inappropriate for her age. She took to TikTok to compile some of the funniest, weirdest, and offensive comments under her Homecoming picture, and they were shocking.

Grace’s dress was altered to resemble Diana’s revenge black dress.

Grace explained that she had a fantastic homecoming since it was held for the first time after a while. She got a lot of compliments for the dress. The event was made incredibly amazing for the students, leaving Grace some of the best memories with her boyfriend and friends.

Her pictures with her boyfriend were in a sunflower field dedicated to another student who passed away last year called Dalton Defilipi.

She was happy that her picture had 32k likes when her boyfriend’s mom shared it on a group dedicated to Sunflowers and Daisies.

But the boyfriend’s mom revealed that there were also less-than-nice comments about her and made her heart sink. Grace said, “I have been picked on my entire life — my freshman year, I moved schools because it got so bad.”

She noticed that many of them came from older women, and she didn’t understand why they had to leave those comments.

Grace didn’t want her confidence to be taken away as she believed she looked perfect in that dress.

She shared them on TikTok and made a half-joking expression.

Don’t worry, a lot of people were quick to tell her those comments were completely unnecessary.

Grace doesn’t stay quiet: she made a point that she doesn’t feel bad about what she wears.

“My parents both approved of the dress,” Grace wrote in her reply to one of the comments. “I had on shorts underneath.”

“I hold myself to a very high standard because of my sport, and I’m a pageant girl as well,” she explains. “I’m also 4’11, so I had my dress altered to look good on my body and to fit my height. Nice try tho, ma’am.”

Oh, yes, she is a phenomenal sportswoman!
