Nirvana’s second album, ‘Nevermind,’ has that iconic album cover that most of us can easily recognize. The picture of a baby swimming towards a dollar bill. That baby is now 30 years old and now more people than ever know he’s Spencer Elden, the man trying to sue Nirvana for ’emotional trauma.’
Apparently, Spencer takes this picture to be offensive and it depicts him like “a sex worker.”
According to the documents that Spencer’s legal team filed, the pictures “exposed Spencer’s intimate body part and lasciviously displayed Spencer’s genitals from the time he was an infant to the present day.” And to pay for the emotional damage he’s received, he demands at least $150,000 from each member of Nirvana.
But people just are not buying it.
Before this lawsuit, Spencer has also been recreating the pictures multiple times, earning fame and profit from it.
Five years ago, Spencer also recreated this same scene to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
Spencer is demanding at least $150,000 from Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, Courtney Love, the executor of Kurt Cobain’s estate, Guy Oseary and Heather Parry managers of Cobain’s estate, photographer Kirk Weddle, and art director Robert Fisher
In fact, he even has a tattoo on his chest as a tribute to ‘Nevermind.’ All of a sudden, he doesn’t like it anymore.
And now, we’re just enjoying the way the internet found their new source of memes.
Some people did not even process that this was real news.
