The face recognition in Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL saw a bit of a loophole in its security as people are able to unlock it without having their eyes open. Because of this, people can have their phones unlocked while they’re sleeping and rare accidental issues with it.
Let’s face it – closed eyes, face recognition feature was unseen and unneeded.
Update Android 11 DP2 that was rolled out include the “Require eyes to be open” option now.
Basically, now your phone will not unlock itself when your partner decided to snoop around while you sleep.
While it’s slightly late, Google made their speedy performance a priority with the arrival of Motion Sense and Soli for their IR camera system. Google addresses this issue early on by saying that they will include this in a future update and here we are.
