Mum-Of-Two Whose Partner Ran Off With The Ukrainian Refugee Shares Her Anger

Lorna Garnett’s story of a broken home has gone viral and turned into the talk of the town as the UK mom-of-two raged on. The 28-year-old’s husband, Tony Garnett, left her and their two kids for a Ukrainian refugee, 22.

Tony and Lorna had been married for 10 years when they decided to take in Sofiia Karkadym from Lviv, Ukraine.

Tony, who worked as a security guard in Bradford, West Yorkshire, shared that he fell for Sofiia after spending time with her during her stay. And he claimed that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the 22-year-old who’d just escaped from her hometown, Lviv.

Sofiia romanticized their meeting, saying that they’re now living a “love story.” But Lorna thinks otherwise.

Based on her observation, Lorna believes that Sofiia “set her sights on Anthony from the start, decided she wanted him and she took him.”

“She didn’t care about the devastation that was left behind. Everything I knew has been turned on its head in the space of two weeks,” she continued, adding that she did not really agree to become a host, but was convinced after seeing the disastrous situation Ukrainians were left in.

“I decided it was the right thing to do to put a roof over someone’s head and help them when they were in desperate need.”

“And this is how Sofiia has repaid me for giving her a home,” she slammed the homewrecker.

Sofiia waited in Berlin for weeks before her UK visa was approved. She was among the 68,000 visas that have been allowed to enter the country. When she got in, she stayed in Tony and Lorna’s home.

Tony claimed that something “clicked” between her and him, adding that the children – 6 and 3 – took a liking to her.

Sofiia would follow him to the gym and they’d spend hours talking in the car park. Even when Lorna was around, Slovakian Tony would speak in his tongue language with Sofiia, leaving her confused at what they were talking about. Eventually, she got “very jealous” of the situation.

“The atmosphere was getting really bad and Sofiia told me she didn’t know whether she could continue to live with us under these circumstances,” said Tony.

After an impending argument between the women, Sofiia was eventually kicked out and Tony followed her, taking her to his family home. They’re now looking for a new home together, but insisted that they “didn’t mean to hurt anyone.”
