A mother-of-two quits her job as an estate agent to launch a ‘baby spa’ – after noisy playgrounds filled with other parents left her feeling all overwhelmed and anxious.

Lisa Ryan, 38, from Birmingham unveiled Spa Babies in June 2019 and it has resulted in a big hit, profiting over £24,000 in eight months. Newborns, during their scheduled sessions, are treated with facials and Jacuzzi-style bubble baths, including positive touches.

Lisa admitted the Zen, calming the environment assist a lot of mum to bond with their babies without the pressure of having to talk with other parents. On maternity leave with her second child – Jax, 17-Months-Old, Lisa revealed she had struggled to visit playgrounds as they activated her anxiety.

‘After experiencing two caesareans, I was house-bounded for about six weeks and instantly started feeling al nervous about going out. I am a very confident person, but playgrounds are very overwhelming. I struggled with socializing with other parents and I also found myself avoiding them.’ Lisa explained.

She continued: ‘On concluding my maternity leave was coming to an end, I realized I wanted to do something to help other moms who’re suffering from anxiety. The baby spa brings about a bond between mothers and their babies. It’s a filled sensory experience with lavender in the air and light outs.’

The Spa Babies is for children between the ages of 0 to 9months. The spa has shower functionality, bubbles features like that of a Jacuzzi as well as a relaxing bath that has a whirlpool.

Lisa further added: ‘I honestly love my job, it has grown through the word of mouth. In a week, I attend to just a session, but now I host averagely a seven. Well, the mums have about half an hour of interacting with their babies which entails kisses, cuddles and facial sessions. Mums also participate in touches featuring stroking of their baby’s face.

‘Mali was in the special care baby unit for 7days when he was first given birth to. I didn’t get to cuddle him until he was let out. Therefore, it was very important I find something unique for us to do together. We have been going to the baby spa since he was seven weeks old and presently he’s calmer than my first child –Max,2. The mum identified as Samantha Whitehouse, 28, said.
