Mom Slams Strangers Who Judge Her Because Her Four-Year-Old Is Still In Nappies

A mother, judged by a stranger for not toilet training daughter, 4, has responded, revealing that her daughter will certainly learn how in her own time.

The mom, Laura Mazza, 33, from Melbourne admitted she was angered when she was met with a disappointing glance from a fellow parent for not toilet training Sofia.

‘She’s 4year, 5weeks and one day and she isn’t toilet trained.’ Laura captioned her Instagram post. When she was 6months old, she didn’t sit up and not even at 8months. She continued that Sofia had learned how to walk and speak much later, of which she and her partner worried at times, but were reassured several times she will get there at her own time.

‘Sofia dislikes loud noises and covers her ears. She’s terrified easily and barely hangs around with other children. She appreciates being alone. Sofia has different traits as compared to her brothers and sisters and has met milestones later than them. She’s super different. I’ve come to, however, love them all the same.’ Laura explained.

She further admitted that her suspicion that Sofia is in between the spectrum of something is why she watches her, adding that she’s in awe. ‘Sofia drives me crazy because she’s particularly a force to reckon with and that’s what I appreciate about her the most. I appreciate she’s different.’ Laura stated.

However, the Better Health Channel has urged parents to keep using nappies until their kids’ start showing signs they might be ready to be toilet trained. On the other hand, Laura’s post was met with a lot of praise and support from other parents, many of whom agreed that kids learn and develop at different speeds.
