Mom Deleted 14-Year-Old Influencer Daughter’s Social Media Accounts With 1.7M Followers

Too harsh or good parenting?

It’s nightmarish for most teenagers to have their smartphones and gadgets taken away from them. And with teens gradually flourishing in the influencer world, it’s the worst dream to suddenly find that someone has deleted your account with millions of followers.

Fernanda Rocha Kanner deleted her daughter’s social media accounts because it’s not healthy for her to judge herself on ‘online feedback.’

The latter is precisely what happened to a 14-Year-Old influencer in Brazil whose mother deleted her social media accounts and insisted she’s NOT sorry. Mother Fernanda Rocha Kanner didn’t like what her daughter Valentina was putting online. So she erased both her Instagram and TikTok accounts.

Valentina (pictured left), known online as Nina Rios, had amassed 1.7 million followers over her TikTok and Instagram accounts.

Fernanda didn’t also want her daughter, known online as Nina Rios, judging herself on online feedback. She believes that social media accounts are unhealthy and shouldn’t be heavily used by a teenage girl. “I don’t think it’s healthy even for an adult and much less for a teenager to base her self-discovery on online feedback.” Fernanda told Fantastico

Fernanda knew it was time to delete Nina’s accounts when she logged in and saw 30 identical selfies and little dances that anyone could do.

The mom felt it was time to delete the accounts when she logged on to see thirty identical selfies and little dances. She added: “It’s hard enough for you to find out who you are at 14-Years-Old. When there are two million you’ve never seen in your life thinking they know you, it’s even more dangerous. It’s easier to lose yourself.”

“When there are two million you’ve never seen in your life thinking they know you, it’s even more dangerous.”

Fernanda went on to admit that she was worried for her daughter to ‘grow up believing she’s this character.’ She also claimed that she doesn’t want her daughter advertising flammable polyester clothing made in China. She also doesn’t want her brilliant daughter doing daily dances like a trained baboon. “It’s a sad generation for which this counts as fame.” The mom stated.

Fernanda said of her decision: “Radical, yes. Necessary, too.”

Unsurprisingly, Valentina was angered at the decision and reportedly revealed she got pretty angry with her mom. However, she shared that she’s content being off social media for now and hasn’t disclosed whether she will rebuild her massive following. Valentina said: “I’ll choose. At the moment, I don’t want to. It’s going to be something that’s only going to get in my way, and it will only make it worse.”
