Model Reveals She Was Asked To Wear A ‘Fat Suit’ For A Plus-Size Ad

And they fake their models.

The industry secret of the fashion and modeling world can be pretty disheartening when fans find out. Even though we’ve known for a long time that social media and fashion magazines like to exaggerate their models, you just don’t know how far they’re willing to go for it.

Karoline Bjørnelykke, a model from Oslo, Norway, reveals how she becomes a plus-size model without actually being on that size.

Karoline reveals how she’s managed to model for plus-size ads despite not having the figure. The trade secret was something that’s been circulating in the industry and works for brands that carry up to 5XL clothing size.

“If you have eyes, you can see that I’m not that size. So how do we fix this?”

She took out a sack of padding which was “basically a fat suit in pieces.” The Louise Vuitton and Armani model showed how it’s done on her body.

“It’s considered polite to bring this to work,” she explained while showing the padding. Once she filled up her suit with padding, she shows how she’s visibly bigger after that. But the big question is why?

“If that isn’t enough, you just pin everything in the back.”

“They want the neck and the face to look really slim and sharp,” she explained. “Which doesn’t just create unrealistic standards, but impossible ones.”

“My suggestion is to just use real plus-size women because there are so many gorgeous plus-size women out there.”

Karoline was praised after letting the cat out of the bag on her social media as the clip goes viral with over 600k views now. But criticisms follow as they say that while knowing the negative impact, she continued to perpetuate the conduct.

Karoline, who has over half of her 10 years of modeling experience as a plus-size, revealed that she’s stopped taking those gigs.

“I did a couple of these many years ago when I just got signed with an agency in NY, and had a contractual obligation but I refuse to do them now…”

She hoped that through revealing these things, consumers know that it’s not their body’s fault.
