Man Living With A Deformed Nose Gets New One As Christmas Gift
The battle of six years is finally over.
Conrado Estrada developed a rare condition called rhinophyma, which left him with thick and dimpled skin at the tip of his nose. With the appearance of his nose [big and bulbous] causing issues, Estrada also struggled with breathing problems, speaking, eating, and his smile could hardly be seen.
Conrado Estrada, 57, suffered from Rhinophyma, which left him with dimpled skin at the tip of his nose.
For several years, the New-York based tried to seek a solution before he recently bumped into Dr. Thomas Romo, who works as the director of facial plastic reconstructive surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. Estrada, who works as a painter, had turned up to Dr. Romo’s home with his paint crew 5months ago, which was then they officially first met.
The painter also struggled with breathing problems, speaking, eating, and his smile could hardly be seen.
He spent roughly six years seeing doctors and skin specialists, but nothing got better.
Dr. Romo noticed Estrada’s appearance and offered to reconstruct his nose for FREE. According to New York Post, Romo described Estrada’s condition as having a pen*s on his nose. He said: “This was a bad one. It was a smoldering infection, and it would have just kept going.” Having sighted the issue, Romo added he pulled Estrada to one side to speak to him.
Eventually, things turned around when he bumped into Dr. Thomas Romo at his home.
‘They would stare at me. Children would ask their mothers what happened to me,’ Estrada explained.
He continued: “I don’t mind telling people what I think. This has to be affecting his life, his relationship with other people and his ability to get work, and his self-esteem.” Estrada, who was informed the only solution would be surgery, shared with the publication how he felt about Dr. Romo. “I believe God sent an angel to take care of me, and that’s how I see Dr. Romo.”
The cause of rhinophyma is unknown, but it has been classified as rosacea, an inflammatory skin disease.
Dr. Romo offered Estrada his services FREE and went under the knife some days later.
He shared how people reacted when they saw him, claiming they stared at him, and most often, children would ask their mothers what happened to him. He gets around quite quickly by using a face mask all the time. Estrada had spent roughly six years seeing doctors and skin specialists, but nothing got better.
It’s been four weeks since the operation. Dr. Romo claimed anyone would think Estrada won a gold medal.
Isn’t this a jaw-dropping result?
It’s now been four weeks since the operation, and Dr. Romo stated: “You’d think he won an Olympic gold medal. His chest is out; the face’s out; he’s a smiley guy. I feel great for him!” Only some days after Dr. Romo and Estrada met, a few forms were signed, which eventually led to Estrada being on the operating table and having the surgery.
