Madonna Is Allegedly Going Through A ‘Crisis Of Confidence’ But Pushing Boundaries To Fight Ageism

Madonna will continue to defy societal stereotypes while proving age isn’t a limitation.

She has been through quite a lot, with the most recent being the negative comments she received after her appearance at the 65th Annual Grammys. But staying true to her rebel image, Madonna has refused to be slammed into oblivion and looks forward to more years of subversive behavior, pushing boundaries, standing up to the patriarchy, and enjoying her life.

The 64-year-old continues to prove she’s a force to reckon with despite currently going through a crisis of confidence.

An unnamed source claimed the singer is having a bit of a crisis of confidence and this doesn’t help. And while Madonna and her 23-year-old lover Andrew Darnell recently ended their relationship, the source told PageSix“It was only a very casual thing [with Darnell], so she’s not broken-hearted.” It’s just that it has come at a bad time.”

The Queen of Pop, however, remains focused on constantly reinventing herself and is working hard for her 40th-anniversary tour.

The source added: “She’s throwing herself into the tour and is determined that not only will it be brilliant, but it will also thrust her back into the limelight.” The music icon herself seems to have the answer in the most Madonna way, sending a message of defiance against her bashers in a tweet that reads: “The world is threatened by my power and my stamina, my intelligence and my will to survive. But they will never break me. This is all the test.”

Interestingly, Madonna had predicted the ageism she was going to face when she was age 34.

According to an interview, during her 30s, the pop diva highlighted that we live in a society where people are not permitted to be adventurous after reaching a certain age. She added at the time: “I mean, a lot of people have said, ‘Oh, that’s so pathetic, I hope she’s not still doing that in 10 years. I mean, who cares? What if I am? Is there a rule? Life is long. People are living to be a hundred years old, so I don’t get it.”

Madonna’s fight against ageism lingers and she remains unapologetic for living her true self.

The pop star recently claimed she wouldn’t apologize for her creative choices or her appearance. She blamed ageism/misogyny for the criticism she has been receiving, stating: “I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career.” But regardless, Madonna wishes to pave way for a better future for women, adding: “I’m happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have easier times in the years to come.”

At the Grammys, internet trolls focused on Madonna’s face when she delivered a speech about going against the grain and how being controversial could mean an artist is on to something.

But the queen of pop indeed clapped back at them through an Instagram post, writing: “Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech, which was about giving thanks for the fearlessness of artists like Sam and Kim, many people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long lens. Madonna equally threw shades at the press, pointing out that the photographer has the power to distort anyone’s face.
