The Grammy-winner was having an absolute blast on stage, performing for her newest album release, “Special.”

She most recently talked to Elle UK about her passion for music, “Growing up in Houston, the impact that Destiny’s Child had on me making a decision to become an artist was incredible, mostly because I felt like we were so close to it.”

“They had an album-signing event at a Wal-Mart, and I skipped school to go see them,” the flutist continued.

And she’s still a fan of Beyonce to this day as she continued, “Every time I hear her, it’s like, ‘Man, I want to make people feel this way. How can I make people feel this way, too?'”

And she most notably made history by playing the crystal flute James Madison received 200 years ago. She was recorded as the first person to have ever played the instrument.

She captioned her post where she shared the moment, “YALL.. THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS LET ME PLAY THEIR HISTORIC 200 YEAR OLD CRYSTAL FLUTE ON STAGE TONIGHT— NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE… NOW YOU DO.”

Several people have claimed that the classically trained flutist playing the 200-year-old French-designed flute as controversial, but many couldn’t help but call this a moment in history for a black woman playing the flute of a slave owner.
