The drooping eyelid moment.

How It Started Vs. How It’s Going

Buha returned to the spa, which name wasn’t revealed, and again the injector administered four additional units. The 33-Year-Old went home, but days later, she experienced drooping in her eyelid on waking up from sleep. The condition is called ptosis, and it got severe as the days went on. More badly, Buha’s other eye, which was compensating for the reduction in vision, equally bug out.

While filming Instagram stories, Buha had tried to hide her eyes, but when she revealed she was covering her eyesight due to a botox fail, her followers asked to see what was going on. Buha embraced the fail started sharing daily updates of her situation, and her followers loved it. “The strength and honestly to tell this story is amazing. You have the best attitude for this industry. It makes me admire you so much more.” A user had commented under Buha’s post.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, the influencer said: “I was getting scared that this a) this was going to be permanent or b) this was going to affect my eyes or my vision long term. People are so invested in this and want to what’s happening.” In reaction to Buha’s experience, Dr. Alan Matarasso, a New-York City-based plastic surgeon who served as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons president, told BuzzFeed that Buha’s case is very rare.

More Botox and eye drops have been recommended to lift Buha’s eyelid, but she also uses other remedies, including steaming her eye.

Dr. Alan explained that Buha’s complication most typically occurs when the Botox fluid seeps from its supposed muscle into a nearby muscle that controls the eyelid. Thankfully, he said, the condition is temporary and reversible. In the meantime, more Botox and eye drops have been recommended to lift Buha’s eyelid, but she is also using other remedies, including massaging and steaming her eye.
