‘I’m A Bartender, Stop Assuming That Asking For Drinks With No Ice Mean More Alcohol’

The Nashville-based bartender insisted that no ice doesn’t mean more alcohol.

The comment section of Jemima June’s latest TikTok sees viewers in arguments over her and a customer interaction. The clip has racked up over 7.3million views and in it, Jemima, who works at a club in Nashville Tennessee, called out a customer’s attempt to get more booze in his drink by instructing her not to put any ice in it.

A reveler could be heard asking for a tequila cranberry and insisting ‘no ice.’

They repeated their request for no ice, which Jemima assured had been met before asking: “Do you want a DOUBLE tequila cranberry?”

As seen in the comments, some pointed out that Jemima’s attitude was perfectly cordial despite the customer’s repeated yelling of instructions. Someone penned: “Y’all are trippin she was nice about that.” The bartender has in the past gone viral for her incredibly quick ability to open beer bottles, having once opened five in less than three seconds.

However, Jemima further explained to the customer that “just cause you say no ice doesn’t mean you’re gonna get more alcohol. Double, that means you’re gonna get more alcohol.”

A few appeared to agree with Jemima, who has over 900K on TikTok but others accused her of giving a side-eye. Someone quipped: “Lemme get no ice without the attitude.” Another joked: “Lol when you literally just don’t want your drink getting watery.” While a third said: “Ok, but sometimes we just more drink, not more alcohol, so we don’t finish our mainly cup of ice in 5 seconds.” Dozens backed the bartender, saying it was obvious the customer was pulling a fast one.

Someone said: “As a bartender in a HIGH-VOLUME setting this is not even being rude. It gets frustrating being yelled at when you are doing what they ask.”

Another added: “Us bartenders know exactly what no ice means.” A third stated: “You knew instantly your face you’re like okay no ice got it.” Someone else defended Jemima about having an attitude, “The ppl saying you have an attitude clearly have never worked in the industry.” Another reassured: “It happens CONSTANTLY & these customers need to be lectured.” One responded: “Blows my mind that we still have to say this.”
