Firefighters have come to the rescue of an 18-year-old teenager after getting stuck in a washing machine amid a hide and seek game.
Since there’s a lockdown, Amari Dancy was playing the game with her cousins at home in Woodbridge, Virginia when she reached a decision to hide in the laundry appliance.
Amari Dancy, 18, was pulled out by four firefighters after getting stuck in a washing machine during hide and seek game
‘We had hidden in the closet, under the bed and couldn’t go down into the basement. So I reached a decision to hide in the washing machine.’ Amari explained.
Concealing herself into the washer, Amari instantly realized she couldn’t get out. The trapped teen admitted yelling out for help. Older relatives at home had to equally phone first responders for assistance.
Over a dozen staff of the Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue got to Amari’s home before 11pm. Suni, Amari’s aunt filmed the whole scenario on her phone and uploaded the whole story to Instagram.
A clip showed four firefighters, putting on gloves and masks amid the pandemic, discussing with Dancy as she remains stuck inside the washer machine. ‘Can you turnaround your toes?’ One could be heard asking the teen.
The four firefighters were able to successfully remove the top of the washer in order to create enough room in pulling out Amari. The firefighters were spotted pulling the teen by the arms as she expresses discomfort.
Nevertheless, after Amari was freed, she managed to see a humorous side to the situation. ‘It’s pretty embarrassing and all I can do is to laugh-out-loud. My whole family had a good laugh and as long as I am fine, that’s all that matters at this moment.’ Amari added.
On the other hand, Amari’s aunt used the situation to warn others who might be seeking an unusual way to conquer their boredom during lockdown rules.
