Former Store Greeter Revealed That He Never Got In The Way Of Moms Who Tried To Steal Baby Products
“I just said, ‘Have a great day.'”
A former Walmart greeter shared his story of helping others fight the costly life that is a parent: letting them leave with the unpaid baby formula. His story resonated with many parents who felt cared for as they all shared how expensive baby formula and diapers can be.
He dueted with another video that revealed how stores would have locks for baby formulas. That’s how costly they are.
“So, I worked at Walmart as a door greeter, and basically, a door greeter is someone who says “hi” and “bye” and also checks the receipt before you leave the store,” he explains his job concisely.
“And every time I saw a customer – mostly a woman – and I checked the receipt, and I saw Pampers or baby formula that was not on a receipt, I just said: Have a great day.”
“Why” he revealed his reason. “Because they’re expensive, and kids are expensive, in general.”
“In my store, and the company in general, we didn’t really get a reward for the amount of stuff we caught people stealing,” said Brandon. “I mean, they would tell me like ‘she’s stealing, catch her’, like ‘check her receipt’ and I’ll check the receipt and I’m like, “You’re good. Have a great day.”
“And AP would be pissed. Did I care? No. Because I was making $11.50 at the time.”
A baby’s formula can cost anywhere up to $1500 because it’s directly correlated to their health. Some may require special diets, and only specific formulas are allowed for them.
People thanked the man for his service to those in need.
Yet, theft isn’t the solution – it’s a sign of urgency that something needs to be fixed in the system. You can listen to his story below!
