Fitness Guru Explains Why Indulging In ‘Nice Foods’ Over Christmas Won’t Ruin Workout Progress

It’s ok to slow down, enjoy the celebrations, and recharge.

She’s back with her fitness advice, and this time around, Emma Apell has decided to explain why it isn’t a bad thing to slow the workouts and indulge in nice foods. The coach emphasized that Christmas is a lot more than worrying about skipping a workout, and people shouldn’t feel guilty about making the most of the festive season.

“To anyone who needs this reminder right now: It is more than okay to slow down over the holidays,” Apell, aka Live Well with Apell, said in her post on Instagram

She added: “I don’t want you to feel any pressure to work out.” I don’t want you to feel any pressure to stay busy. I don’t want you to feel any pressure to stay on top of your nutrition. All I want for all of you, my friends, is for you to enjoy yourself and create memories. That is what Christmas is about.

Apell, who has over 60K followers, stressed it’s important not to beat oneself up if fitness workouts take a backseat over the holidays.

She insisted it was perfectly fine to slow down and enjoy the festivities while also recharging. As a fitness coach, she said people shouldn’t feel pressure to stay on their game when it comes to workouts and clean eating, as they can get back on track“So, give your body some extra rest, do things that make you happy and enjoy the foods you are eating,” Apell urged.

The coach also urged people to make memories they’ll look back at when older and that eating extra food as well as some time off training isn’t going to ruin any progress they’ve made.

She continued: “If you’ve been starting to feel guilty for enjoying yourself a little extra during the festive period, then let’s stop that feeling.” Instead, I want you to focus on all the memories you get to create, all the food you get to enjoy, how amazing your body will feel with some extra rest, how life is about living it, and that life is all about balance.”

“Focus on creating memories and enjoy every second.” You are alive and you get to experience life – that is a blessing itself.”

Apell’s post has since been liked countless times, and a lot of people have thanked her for being candid about the subject matter. Some people pointed out that she indeed offered a good reminder that will help, with someone writing: “I denied the chocolate my hubby laid down next to me a few minutes ago. Then I saw your post. I’m eating it right now. Thank you.”
