Divorcee Woman Goes On Different Park Run Weekly To Find Her ‘Dream Husband’
She’s giving love another chance after thirteen years.
Minreet Kaur has committed herself to a different park for her weekly runs. And this is because the 41-Year-Old felt judged by community members when she went through a divorce 13years ago as leaving a marriage isn’t something people do. Now, she wants to find her dream husband and wants to do it face-to-face instead of relying on dating apps.
Freelance Journalist Minreet Kaur, 41, has been single for 13 years after a divorce.
She has never really met anyone she connected with, and it’s been quite difficult.
Appearing on the Free Weekly Timed Podcast, Minreet, who is Sikh, revealed she’s using Parkrun, a company that organizes 5-kilometer events for walkers and runners, as her dating app. The runs take place at 2000 places across the country, so Minreet has plenty of locations to choose from when it comes to finding her dream man.
As she turned 40 in lockdown, Minreet wanted to settle down and have children more than ever.

And to find her dream husband, Minreet turned to Parkrun instead of dating apps.
This gives the Freelance Journalist fifty-two opportunities for 2022 to see and meet new potential bachelors. She told MyLondon: “For a long time I felt quite ashamed, thinking that you only get married once because that’s what we’ve always been told and that’s the way it was then. It was a massive taboo; I was the first that spoke about it in the Sikh community, about how bad it has been for women, it’s much harder for us.”
Parkruns are weekly five-kilometer events that take place every Saturday morning.

And so far, it has given Minreet about 52 opportunities to see and meet new potential bachelors.
“It’s not really about finding someone in the community. It’s great if you do, but it’s about being a good person; it shouldn’t be about religion.” Minreet, who is training to be a swimming teacher, shared that going to work her way through a different Parkrun every week helps her speak to people when she’s there and often gets involved in some volunteering. She added it’s, however, quite hard to meet new people as we’re in that time when it’s not easy to meet genuine people.
Minreet, training to be a swimming teacher, would like to meet a man who enjoys sports activities.
She added: “a man who is “fun, bubbly, genuine, caring and very career-driven as well as a gentleman.”
Minreet claims she’s looking for a man who is “fun, bubbly, genuine, caring and very career-driven as well as a gentleman who keeps you on your toes.” Nonetheless, during the pandemic, Minreet was faced with a shock to the system regarding her single status as she turned 40 and recognized she wanted to be married and have children. Parkrun remains her way of meeting with someone organically as she hasn’t had much luck on dating apps.
