Dad Shaves His Daughter’s Hair For Bullying A Girl With Cancer
“I was disgusted by her attitude.”
Bullying should never be accepted. But stories often aren’t as black and white as they seem. It’s so easy to misunderstand people when you only listen to one side of the story.
But a father was determined to not let go of his daughter’s behavior that he deemed unacceptable. And he wanted to teach her a lesson to never repeat the behavior, but it was controversial for many who thought he turned into the very being he thought he was disgusted at.
“AITA for shaving my daughter’s hair for bullying a girl with cancer?”
It was revealed in the story that the girl had been bullied by the other student. Regardless of her physical condition, her words did hurt the man’s daughter. And as a result, she was probably seeking a way to hurt her back the most, and that was to pull her wig off.
None of these were acceptable, but readers were convinced that the father shouldn’t have disregarded the fact that she was hurt, too. One user told him, “YTA (You’re the as***le). Forcing haircuts on an unwilling person can be considered assault.
“Teens are terrible at times but don’t act high and mighty and assume someone who has cancer is a saint. Plenty of assholes get cancer too. The big issues here are her being sexually active and how safe she is being. Communication between you and her that isn’t just you also being a bully (I wonder where she got that from).”
Another took his daughter’s side, “YTA. Your daughter was being bullied and fought back. You took it too far and made it seem like your daughter bullied her for simply having cancer and losing her hair. I feel so bad for your daughter.”
“YTA. You don’t even care about what the other girl did to your daughter? You just say there was an ongoing feud but did it never occur to you that maybe your daughter was just standing up for herself? Just because someone has cancer doesn’t mean they can’t be a bully, too,” added another.
