Dad Kicks Bratty ‘Cool Girl’ Out Of Daughter’s Sleepover For Bullying Attitude

Teenage years are challenging for every parent. Regardless of how long ago you discover yourself in your kid’s shoes, there are some things they can only learn via personal experience.

In as much as you want to keep your kids away for experiencing pain or harassment, it isn’t always promising. At times you can both step in and help, resulting in what appears like overstepping.

The real gist: A dad was recently questioning himself after an incident at his teenage daughter’s sleepover.

The concerned 34-Year-old dad took to Reddit for opinions after welcoming a sleepover for his daughter, 14, birthday. He revealed that among his daughter’s attending friends was a bratty-duper cool girl.

Walking in, the dad explained the cool girl was rude, but was given a benefit of the doubt and assumed to be shy. As the night unwrapped, the brave dad acknowledged the girl was engaged in several of troubling attitude, adding that she uttered the birthday girl’s gifts weren’t impressive.

Things clearly unfolded when he realized the cool girl said she didn’t want to be at the sleepover. The dad then excused her from other girls and called her home to come to pick her up. Presently, he’s wondering if he did the right thing in protecting his daughter.

Part of the birthday gift was an iPhone 7 from the birthday girl’s parent. Influenced by the bratty cool-girl words, the birthday girl left the phone on the table. On picking up the phone, the dad found out the girls had been texting his daughter’s new phone and surprisingly, the cool-girl continued her arrogance behavior there.

‘Thanks for inviting me to your lame party. Lol and congratulations on the iPhone SEVEN, haha.’ The girl wrote.

The text continued: ‘Are you not mad your parents and friends got you lame gifts? Slumber parties are for small girl’s lol, but it’s cool.’

Calling the cool girl’s parents to come to pick up their daughter, the dad felt so good about what he did until his wife did otherwise. ‘My wife was furious and suggested I should have talked with somebody rather than kicking the girl out.’ The dad explained.

Reacting, internet users were on the fence as to whether or not the dad did the right thing for his daughter. One user applauded the dad for handling the situation perfectly.

‘You did what your daughter couldn’t and that’s standing up to a bully. It would be years before she realizes that those cool people in high school often grow up to become terrible people. I wouldn’t have also allowed someone to disrespect my home or family.’ The user wrote.

A few users, however, felt the dad should have placed a giant target on his daughter’s back, believing he should have let her handle things in her own way.
