The pain is no doubt deserving of relief.

Period pain isn’t normal, and it’s time people start believing the pain is REAL. To bolster this, a company named “SOMEDAYS,” along with her team, recently stirred up things at a rodeo by challenging cowboys to experience different pain levels of menstrual cramps.

29-Year-Old Lux Perry, the company’s CEO, sees the challenge as a way to teach men a lesson about what tough looks like.

The Canada-based hooks the men up to a device that stimulates some aspects of period pain, and so far, videos of men struggling to maintain composure while their abdominal muscles are contracted versus women testing the device nonchalantly even at its highest level have since gone viral on the internet.

One of the videos shows a cowboy taking the period pain to level 10, which, according to Lux, is similar to the pain they experience as someone living with endometriosis.

While he barely sweats through the first few levels, the man’s display of fortitude starts to crack by level four which Lux says is about the pain of typical period cramps. At level seven, the cowboy asked Lux: “This is, like, constant?” And as the device is amped up one more level, he exclaimed: “It’s, like, in my legs! This is awful.” When he stood up at level 10, he gave a yeehaw and only managed to stand up straight for a few seconds due to the pain.

The team tests the device on a couple simultaneously, and while the woman appears unfazed by the pain, level five of the pain simulator forces the man to blurt out: “It’s like a Charlie horse!”

At level seven, the man allegedly asked his partner, “How do you do things???” before tapping out at level eight. In an interview with BuzzFeed, Lux explained that the period simulator works by causing the muscles in the lower abdomen and thighs to contract similarly to menstrual cramps. She added: “When used at very low settings, they can distract from the pain, but on higher levels and when placed in the right area, they can cause the muscles to cramp similar to a period cramp.”

“Many TENS machines (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation device) have different settings and different sensations, so we tested over 40 machines to find the one most similar to a period cramp.”

According to Lux, people weren’t welcoming when they first arrived at the rodeo as there was a stigma linked with periods and period pain. But now, they have hundreds of people lining up with their partners so that they can get a feel for what their partner with a period experiences each month. So far, it’s been an honor for Lux to be able to educate more people about the amount of suffering people with period pain are expected to endure.

It’s equally a bigger honor for Lux to be able to help people find relief from that pain with SOMEDAYS.
