College, 27, Student Adopts A Baby He Found In Trash Covered In Ants While On Vacation
He needs to raise $30,000 to complete the adoption process.
While on vacation in Haiti, Jimmy Amisial found a baby covered in ants and distressed. He scooped up the baby and took him to his mom Elicie Jean, who washed, clothed, and fed the child with milk. Jimmy was at the time on a study break from Texas State University and was on his way to the orphanage when he came across people huddled around a trash can.
It’s alleged since he was a teen, Jimmy has always helped out at the orphanage next to his home, and on this trip, he had brought back presents for the children.
Jimmy reportedly made his way to the front of the scene and, in his disbelief, found a four-month-old baby inside the trash. It’s unknown how the baby ended up there; to this day, no one knows who his birth parents are. “When I woke up that day, I was unaware my life was about to change forever. People were crowding round this bin, and I heard them arguing about what to do with this tiny baby,” he explained.
Jimmy added: “Everyone was just staring at him; not a single soul wanted to help. He was crying and had no clothes on, and I could see the pain in his eyes; I had to do something.”
When 66-Year-Old Elicie saw her son with a four-month-old, she was shocked but was immediately willing to do everything she could to ease his pain and suffering. The pair reported the instance to the police, and when the police couldn’t find the baby’s birth parents, a judge asked Jimmy to become his legal guardian & he named him Emilio Angel Jeremiah.
Elicie is now an essential part of their journey, looking after Emilio while her son is studying &working.
Ever since, Jimmy has been splitting his time between the States and Gonaives and has applied to adopt Emilio to become his DAD. formally. To provide for his family, the 27-Year-Old has had to take considerable time off from his studies but is now gearing up to start his 3rd year in September. However, Jimmy started the formal process of adopting Emilio in 2020, and he still needs to raise $30,000 for completion.
