Bride Is Hilariously Mocked After Making Own Wedding Cake 12 Hours Before The Big Day
What do you think?
A bride, identified as Laura, realized how much hundreds of dollars would be saved if she baked her wedding cake. She ventured into it the night before her special day and was delighted with the result. The cake likely cost her only $30 and was covered in sprinkles.
As she shared her creation online, many have, however, described the look as a children’s birthday cake or a volcano rather than a wedding cake.
Laura’s two-tiered cake was made using Betty Crocker rainbow white cake mix, which costs $4AUD per box. She baked three eight-inch cakes and three 10-inch cakes that were used to create the different sized tiers. To add the final touch, Laura, believed to be from the US, placed a giant topper on the cake that spelled out the couple’s name.
“I am getting married in two days, and today I’m baking our wedding cake. It’s now midnight, the night before our wedding I am icing our cake,” she said in her clip.
She added, “I’ve never iced a cake in my life, but I think it’s looking pretty cute.” Many people couldn’t help but slam the homemade dessert in the comments. One person wrote: “Is this a joke? Because looks like more for birthday.” Another said: “Not me thinking you were a professional baker, and this was going to turn out so good.” A third expressed: “I can hear your guest judging.”
“Not sure if making my wedding cake at midnight the night before my wedding was the best idea,” Laura’s caption read.

Some seem to agree as one person wrote: “I think this is the cutest idea! Expensive cakes are overrated.” Another said: “People are so mean. I can’t remember anyone’s cake at weddings I’ve been to. If you’re happy with it, that’s all that matters. It’s your day!” Someone else penned: “Thank god someone has some common sense and doesn’t pay $500 for a wedding cake. You’re beautiful; let that shine not your cake!”
