Charlotte and Dad, Mick Barber! She had always been a ‘daddy’s girl’
Mick Barber, Charlotte’s father passed away to cancer in April and since then, she knew her desire of him holding her hand and giving her to the man of her choice wouldn’t be possible.
Her cousin, Kirsty came up with an idea to have Charlotte’s father’s ashes placed on her acrylic nails so that the mother-of-two could still have the presence of her dad for the special day.

‘I was a huge daddy’s girl. Whenever we asked for anything, he would first say no, but then would feel bad and would consider any request made known to him five minutes later. Well, having my dad’s ashes attached to my nails felt like he was holding my hands. Although I knew it wasn’t the same as him really being here, it was as close as I could get.’ Charlotte said.
She added: ‘The wedding was totally incredible and everyone loved my nails. It was a unique thing to do and I loved it. It felt like he was able to walk me down the aisle, which was a thing I knew he really wanted to do.

Charlotte added that she was heartbroken when her father lost his battle to cancer
I suppose the funny side of it was that people asked me what I would do with the nails once fell off. I have kept them and presently, they are framed with decorative crystals all around the frame in my home.’
