‘Brazilian Hulk’ Who Injected Oil To Make Muscles Larger Dies On His 55th Birthday
He had complained shortness of breath.
With risking strokes and infections, Valdir Segato had been using Synthol injections to produce hulking biceps, pectorals, and back muscles. The Sao Paulo-native was inspired by the physiques of Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Hulk. He recently spoke of being proud to be known on the streets as the monster and ruled out stopping the injections anytime soon.
Sadly, the Brazilian bodybuilder passed away on his 55th birthday in Ribeirao Preto.
A man named Moises da Conceicao da Silva reportedly alleged that on the day Valdir died, he had asked his mother for help, complaining about shortness of breath. “It was around 6 a.m., more or less. He came crawling through the back house and came to the front,” Moises, according to Brazil’s Globo news outlet, said.
He added: “Then he knocked on my mother’s window, knocked, knocked, then she woke up, and he said ‘help me, help me because I’m dying.’
It was also alleged that Valdir was rushed to the North Emergency Care Unit but couldn’t be saved. Moises continued: “They put him in the car, and then the neighbor went to the UPA. He arrived at the UPA and fell at the reception, having a heart attack. I think he had a heart attack.” Moises brother, Jadson da Conceicao said the first time such happened, they were able to get him to the hospital on time, but this time there was no saving.
Six years ago, Valdir was warned he could face amputation or, at the very least, nerve damage and muscle disfigurement if he continued to use the injections to bulk himself.
But the former construction worker turned deaf ears to the warnings and insisted he liked the attention and wanted to get even bigger. “They call me Hulk, Schwarzenegger, and He-Man all the time, and I like that. I’ve doubled my biceps, but I want to be bigger, Valdir had said in an interview in 2016. According to local media, he had lived an isolated life, renting a property built to the rear of his family’s house in Ribeirao Preto.
As a youth, Valdir was a drug addict who lost so much weight that he was called Skinny Dog.
When he quit drugs and joined the gym, he wanted more extreme effects and was offered Synthol by someone in the gym. According to Europe PubMed Central, the injections comprised 85% oil, often sesame oil, 7.5% lidocain, a painkiller, and 7.5% alcohol. However, Valdir’s friend, Fernando Carvalho da Silva had previously said the oil thing is stupidity.
