In life, even the smallest bit of advice can transform one’s life incredibly. And that’s what happened to a man who has a successful desk job yet some slightly bad habits.
Just when Gwilym Pugh, 21, was urged to grow a beard, he could never have imagined that the advice would turn his life around. His working at home daily activity and injuries did make him gain a lot of weight, an estimated 280 pounds.
Nevertheless, his life-deteriorating lifestyle transformed after adhering to his barber’s advice of growing a ginger beard.

‘I was quite overweight, working 12hrs per day, plagued with injuries which imply I couldn’t train. The business was doing well, but I reached a decision to get my life in order, especially a healthy gain.’ Pugh reportedly said.
Several years ago, Gwilym and his friends had formed a band and his barber advised he grow a beard in order to appear the part. Accompanying his new appearance, the musician decided to expand his transformation by also cleaning up his diet. One biggest transformation was quitting his job on the desk.
‘It was the best thing for my health as I stopped sitting for 9 to 10 hours. I lost over 90 pounds over the course of 5years. Pugh added. While shedding growing his beard and shedding weight, Gwilym launched an Instagram page and indeed his a Welsh tailor, identified as Nathan Palmar came across the now beard model’s photo and things transformed real fast.
Currently, Gwilym is part of a London agency, known as AMCK Models and he’s working on campaigns with Diesel, Bud Light, Vans and other big brand names. His focus has landed him an ambassador position for David Beckham brand, House 99.
