Argentina’s Goalkeeper Celebrates ‘Awkwardly’ To Winning The Golden Glove At The World Cup

The patience of the Qatari officials was tested at the 2022 World Cup final, but they managed to maintain composure in spite of the rather lewd gesture of Emiliano Martinez at Doha’s Lusail Stadium. The goalkeeper left people stunned with his celebration after winning the Golden Glove Award.
The Argentinian keeper took hold of the trophy in front of a screaming crowd, online viewers, and placed it over his groin, leaving officials unimpressed.
Social media, especially Twitter, has been lit up with laughing emojis and comments. A user wrote: “Emiliano Martinez with the Golden Glove award as a massive c**k.” Lovely. Another user said: “Emiliano Martinez of Argentina with [the] Golden Glove and [the] Sheikh’s reaction. “He is wild [as f**l].”
The Aston Villa goalkeeper’s reaction is considered very awkward because the award was a giant, golden, hand-shaped dong.
While reactions to Emiliano’s act continue to flood the internet, it’s safe to say that he proved to be a hero in Argentina’s penalty shootout victory. Apart from securing the Golden Glove award for the best keeper, he also received the accolade alongside Lionel Messi, who won the best player award.
Despite the extra time, the match against France ended in penalties, with Kylian Mbappe going first. Emiliano got a hand on the France star’s spot-kick, but Mbappe found the back of the net and got his country off the mark in the shootout. Kingsley Coman was next, and he looked nervous as he approached. His penalty went in the same direction as Mbappe’s, but Emiliano saved it.
For Tchouameni’s spot-kick, Emiliano went one step further.
He rolled the ball away from the Real Madrid midfielder as he was walking to the spot, celebrating with the Argentinian fans whilst doing so. The move heaped even more pressure on the Frenchman, who fired his penalty wide. In all the chaos, he eventually got a yellow card, but that didn’t matter in the slightest. However, Mbappe won the Golden Boot at the World Cup final, while Enzo Fernandez was crowned the best young player of the tournament.
