Viewers Left Stunned After Watching Netflix’s Spanish Dystopian Thriller ‘The Platform’
Available for streaming now!
A new Netflix movie has captivated audiences across the globe. The Platform was included on the streaming site in March but was earlier premiered at 2019’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
The Spanish Dystopian thriller-horror is aligned in a large tower-style prison named a ‘Vertical Self-Management Center.’ Prisoners are spread across floors of the structure and a slab of food regularly gets lowered via each level.
Naturally, individuals at the top appear greedy and eat whatever they want, leaving people at the bottom with almost nothing. Interestingly, no inmates are permitted to hoard food and have their rooms heated or frozen.
Monthly, prisoner changes floors.
‘When we met Goreng – Ivan Massague, he arrived on the Platform and assigned to the level of old-hand Trimagazi – Zorion Eguileor, who explained the rules. Those on the upper floor get to eat and those on the lower floor have to fight for survival. However, Goreng is reluctant to accept the system he finds himself at first, but it wasn’t long before his survival instincts kick off, launching a battle that spirals to the core of what it means to be human.’ The synopsis reads.
Starring stars Emilio Buale Coka, Zorion Eguileor, Alexandra Masangkay, and Antonia San Juan, viewers around the globe have been taking to social media to express their thought on the movie.

Similarly, Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, the director revealed that the movie is expected to deliver a message about the wealth division in the world.
