You would agree that conventional beauty standards are both harmful and impossible to achieve. And in our world, you’re either not thin enough, too skinny, too curvy, or not curvy enough. But thankfully, most mighty women in Hollywood are now standing up to unrealistic beauty standards by embracing their bodies in front of the camera just the way they are. Barrymore is keen on teaching her daughters that they should consider themselves fortunate to age. She also wants them to understand that being genuine to oneself comes before thinking about how one’s appearance. The actress places great importance on her children growing up to be more adults.

At a point, she had to fire her manager, who urged her to lose weight. The actress and singer stated proudly that her body is beautiful and that there is no other way to be than herself.

The singer recently celebrated her figure on TikTok. She made a video of the sound telling someone to ‘suck it in,’ then lip-synched the response: “I’m not sucking sh*t in. Real stomachs is coming the f**k back, OK?” In a previous post, Gomez had said: “Honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b*tch about it anyway. B*tch, I am perfect the way I am.”

Being herself started with the decision not to conceal her body in the movie ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once.” Curtis instructed there shouldn’t be concealing of anything including her stomach. Recently, she opened up about how she’s been sucking her stomach in since 11, but now, she’s letting the belly all out. 

Alicia Keys. 

The singer had been criticized for not wearing any makeup to the VMAs. She shared her decision in a Lenny Letter, writing: “I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.” 

Elizabeth Banks.

As a 14-year-old, Elizabeth used to worry about how she looked, but now she has learned it’s better to make herself feel beautiful and not because she wants others’ approval. She used a throwback post moment to educate her fans, writing in the caption: “Being praised for my looks is nice, but not nearly as satisfying as being praised for my accomplishments or deeds.”

Pink. 

Her speech while receiving the Vanguard award said it all. Pink made an ode to her daughter who opened up about feeling bad she looks like a boy at the event, saying: “We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.”

The actress shared an Instagram photo of the stretch marks on her chest, calling them a “normal beauty thing.” She added: “I have stretch marks all over my body, and I hereby rename them all Babe Marks. They are a sign my body dared to take up extra space in a society that demands our eternal thinness.”
