The world was left in disbelief when Princess Diana of Wales passed away in an accident in 1997 at 36. She left behind two sons, Prince Williams and Prince Harry, who at the time were aged 15 and 12 years old respectively. Now, they’re both grown, with Prince Williams married to Kate Middleton and Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.
While Princess Diana couldn’t be there for her children’s wedding, an artist has taken it upon herself to create paintings that imagine what it would have been like if the late royal had been able to meet her daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Autumn Ying is the brain behind the paintings and proceeds from sales of the prints are to be donated to charity.
This print is captioned: “While Princess Dianna won’t get to see her daughters-in-law in reality, I’m thinking of visualizing this scene as a touching tribute to the late mother of Prince William and Prince Harry,”

Ying was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s wedding and decided to create intimate scenes. “Here’s come the joyful version of the royal family which I would like to express the family bonding that’s precious,” the painter wrote in the caption of this photo.
When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their engagement in 2017, Prince Harry gushed that Princess Diana and Meghan Markle be thick as thieves without question. He said at the time: “I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me. It’s days like today when I really miss having her around and miss being to share the happy news.”

While people often speculate about Kate and Meghan’s relationship, Ying in this photo imagined a world where all of the Royal women were united and happy, with Princess Diana acting as a force for both her daughters-in-law.

The artist also paired some paintings with poetry. This touching print is captioned: “Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure. We know you’d be with us today if heaven wasn’t so far away.”

Prince William has also shared sentiments about his mother. He had told GQ UK in an interview: “I was in a state of shock for many years. All I cared about was I had lost my mum. I would like to have had her advice. I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up.”

Harry has recently admitted how he still struggles with his mom’s death. In the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, the prince shared: “Everything I do reminds me of her. But as I said, with the role, with the job and the pressures that comes with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff, unfortunately.”

In this holiday painting, Ying urged her followers to spend time and be kind to their families. She wrote: “Love your family. Make no room for regrets. Tomorrow is not promised and today is short.”
On the first death anniversary of the late Prince Philip, and here’s her reimagination of the nostalgic memory of him and his daughter-in-law together, in hope of inciting the same grind and giggles like the precious moment.
Despite the pain, the princes have both struggled, Ying brought smiles to the faces of people as she envisioned a proud Princess Diana as a grandmother and matriarch.
This print reads: “I always have such a daydream. Even though we don’t know in which part of the world she [Diana] is right now, but if there’s such a magical time map of the world, I would know because the place she exists has to be the brightest, the place full of stars, lights and magic.”

Here, is a painting of the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
With time in the public eye as a married couple, Harry has, over time, become concerned about Meghan, stating: “I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

In addition to the Royal paintings, Ying has, however, painted beautiful surreal travel scenes and even imagined what Disney Princesses might look like. She has since collaborated with brands like Hilton, Rolex, Dior, and Chanel.
