King Charles Told Prince Harry Not To Bring Meghan Markle To Balmoral Before The Queen Died
They hastily announced their plan without the Palace’s knowledge.
It seems that King Charles III was why Meghan Markle did not go to Balmoral Castle while her husband rushed to catch up with the other royal family members to see the Queen’s final moment.
A small drama ensued during the spur of flurry after the Queen’s death was announced: the Sussexes never informed the Palace about traveling together to Balmoral Castle.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle disseminated the news through a media outlet they trusted and released a statement at 1.53 pm, “From a spokesperson: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be traveling to Scotland.”
But the Palace was surprised and – as DailyMail reported – felt incredulous. The details had not been shared by the Royal Family, but what was apparent was that King Charles personally told him that she was not welcomed.
The Sun reported from a source that Prince Harry was phoned while he was at Frogmore Cottage, “Charles told Harry that it wasn’t right or appropriate for Meghan to be in Balmoral at such a deeply sad time.”
“It was pointed out to him that Kate was not going and that the numbers really should be limited to the very closest family. Charles made it very, very clear Meghan would not be welcome.”
The Telegraph reported that a royal insider expressed distaste at the idea of letting Meghan as “it’s quite hard to spend too much time with someone you know is about to publish a tell-all book about you.”
“I think the general reaction to Harry and Meghan’s behavior has been one of incredulity, to be honest.”
Kate Middleton was staying in London with her three kids who were attending school, and speculations were raised that it wasn’t until they were told Kate wasn’t coming did they realize they’d look bad if they forged on. After the Palace clarified what was happening, the media group quickly changed their announcement, with only Harry will make his way to the castle.
