‘Figure It Out’: Plus-Size Model Slams Delta Airline For Seatbelt Length
Why is an extender a thing when belts can be made more accommodating.
Remi Bader has again aired her opinion over the length of the seatbelt fixed on Delta Airplanes. This comes after the plus-size model faced an embarrassing moment during a trip with the airline, which saw that their seatbelts didn’t fit around her waist.
She didn’t like their one-belt fits all policy, and it turns out her 2.1million online followers couldn’t agree any less. The model is best known for filming herself doing try-on hauls of brands like Zara Abercrombie & Fitch.
According to Yahoo, Remi has recently collaborated with Revolve on a size-inclusive clothing line slated to launch this fall.
However, a video of the incident, which has garnered nearly 1million views, showed how Remi failed to fasten the airline’s seatbelt around her lap and captioned: “And no, I shouldn’t need to ask for an extender. It should be just easy! @delta.”
The subtitle to her clip also read: “DELTA, Figure it Out!”
In October, Remi had claimed Delta’s new planes have “way shorter seatbelts than they did before.” In a clip, she recalled freaking out after not being able to fasten her belt during takeoff. When she confronted the flight attendant, the model attested that she was told to ask for an extender, a device that adds about 35 inches to a seatbelt.

The proposed solution reportedly made Remi feel embarrassed and like there’s something wrong with me.”
She had even fumed, saying: “Just make longer seatbelts; why is this an issue? In the comments of her newest TikTok, people couldn’t hold back their opinions as one wrote: “Eeek. Everyone praises delta too. Being a size 14 should not warrant an extension.”
Another added: “YES, WHY IS ASKING FOR AN EXTENDER EVEN A THING JUST MAKE THE BELTS MORE ACCOMODATING.”
One armchair traveler postulated: “When the seatbelts get damaged, they trim them instead of replacing the whole thing. This is why the length is so inconsistent.” Travel review site The Points Guy has explained that Delta’s seat belts range from 40 to 45 inches, shorter than American Airlines and JetBlue’s belts, which measure 45 to 47inches and 45inches, respectively.
