Woman, 20, Marries The Man Two Years After He Threw Acid In Her Face
She was left disfigured with only 30% vision in one of her eyes.
Berfin Ozek was attacked by then ex-BF Casim Ozan Celtik after their relationship soured in 2019. And just before he launched his acid attack, he told the 20-Year-Old that if he couldn’t have her, then nobody could. As Berlin survived, she revealed 23-Year-Old Casim was the attacker, and eventually, he got arrested and was sentenced to 13years and 6months.
Berfin Ozek, 20, has forgiven her ex-BF Casim Ozan Celtik after he savagely attacked her with ACID in 2019.
However, a change in the law coupled with COVID-19 rule changes has permitted Casim, who served within the district of Iskenderun in the Turkish province of Hatay, to leave jail early. Upon his release, he reportedly proposed, and without holding back, she accepted. A wedding date was set; Casim and Berfin officially TIED THE KNOT earlier this month.
Upon Casim’s release from prison, he proposed, and she accepted. The duo tied the knot in early December.
Berlin’s father, Yaser Ozek, has claimed his daughter got married without their knowing. He added he had fought for her for years, but at the moment, all of it has been in vain. Lawyer Ramazan Erdogan also reportedly claimed that the defendant became a convict with the approval of the verdict.
The violent attack on Berfin came after she tried to end their affair, but he spiraled and threw acid on her.
“Considering the period of his imprisonment, he was entitled to go to an open prison after completing the time he had to spend in a closed prison. However, due to the pandemic, convicts are now considered to leave from open prisons until 31st May 2022.”
Berfin later withdrew her complaint after Casim begged to forgive him after he had gone to jail.
“The defendant’s release has nothing to do with his marriage to Berlin. The decision is final. If it weren’t for the pandemic, he would have continued to serve his sentence in an open prison.” Lawyer Ramazan explained. As of this time of writing, the couple hasn’t reacted to the heavy criticism they’ve received on social media.
Casim was released on probation, and it turns out the couple got married without her family’s knowledge.
One person had commented: “Her forgiveness shouldn’t have prevented him from being punished. It’s a pity, I hope not, but this marriage will end in a month or two, and the poor woman will remain with the brutality she experienced.” Nonetheless, at the time of the incident, Casim had flooded Berfin with messages of love and apology.
“The defendant’s release has nothing to do with his marriage to Berfin. The decision is final,” Lawyer Ramazan Erdogan said on the release.
She then briefly agreed to withdraw her complaint, writing: “I am not comfortable with him being between four walls there. We have written many letters to each other. I have given myself to him. I love him very much; he loves me very much.” Berfin received backlash but later stated she realized she was wrong and asked her lawyer to reinstate the complaint.
